Y RUN & WALK is a Branford Rotary fundraiser for the construction of the upcoming Soundview YMCA facility.

It is a scenic 5k walk and run through the Indian Neck section of Branford on Thanksgiving morning.

Help Willy's Friends is having a food and supply drive to benefit dogs and cats in local animal shelters. Food, toys, blankets, and towels will be collected.

Help Willy's Friends is an organization dedicated to collecting supplies to distribute among local animal shelters. This in turn assists shelter workers with providing proper, required, and additional care to animals in need. Ultimately, this results in additional time with hope of finding a new home for loving dogs and cats.

As an added feature, Agway will accept phone orders for individuals who would like to donate food or supplies but cannot attend the event in person. To place an order, simply call Agway at (203) 483-7800.

The annual shoreline TRAIN SHOW will be held Saturday, January 10, 2009 at The United Methodist Church of Branford located at 811 East Main Street, Branford (at the Guilford/Branford border) from 9AM to 3PM. There will be many vendors, live operating layouts, S gauge, O gauge, HO gauge and a Thomas the Tank engine layout. This show is for all ages. There will be door prizes every hour and food will be served. The donation for adults is $4.00 and seniors(60+) is $3.00 and children under 12 years free. The church is wheelchair accessible and the snow date will be January 17, 2009.
