change the oil

seafoam the tank [maybe the block, too?]

strip and spraypaint the tank matte black [edit: actually, it.s now drab green with a matte black cap]

spraypaint side covers, mirrors, fender, lower forks, instrument panel cover, rims, rear rack, most other stationary hardware [or anything unsightly chrome] matte black

spraypaint exhaust, block, all engine component covers, shaft drive cover matte black

replace handlebars with black powder-coated drag bars [maybe risers, too] [edit: the black drag bars i put on didn.t work out because they prevented turning pretty much at all...maybe with risers it would.ve worked. so i painted the existing bars matte black]

remove grab bar, if practical, otherwise paint matte black

reposition shifter pedal, brake pedal for more forward seated position [edit: not gonna happen]

replace mirrors

replace rectangular headlight with dual round headlights, spray matte black if necessary [edit: painted the existing headlight matte black]

replace all light bulbs in instrument panel [edit: the O/D sensor is shot, not the bulb]

replace valve stem covers with normal ones [discard away the plastic eagle covers]

edit...i think i also want to add fork boots. that should black-out the whole front-end
